Dear Americans,

Attacking other countries is bad, as bad as the orchestrated 9/11 attack on your country was. Please do not allow your country to attack other countries.

That your country does indeed have an inalienable right to attack others once in a while, is a fact one hastens to add. The ‘others’ too should understand this and rather than resent your periodic attacks, they should help you choose the next target.

The scribe, for one, appreciates this. The scribe also recognizes that since America is generally led by human beings who are the very personification of all that is best in the human race, she always attacks others for higher moral compulsions and from principled positions on international issues. Therefore, let us see if a 5-minute in depth online research throws up a likely candidate for the next bout of your leaders’ very benign war seizures.

Here are a few hints for the google search.

There is a country, other than yours and the four other permanent UN members, that has dozens of weapons of mass destruction. What’s more, this particular country refuses to sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and bars international inspections, routinely seizes the sovereign territory of other nations by military force and continues to occupy it in full defiance of U N Security Council resolutions.

This country regularly violates the international borders of other sovereign states with warplanes, artillery and naval gunfire and sends assassins into other countries to kill its political enemies. Its high-ranking military officers, while publicly admitting that they have executed unarmed prisoners of war, refuse to prosecute those soldiers who had acknowledged the gruesome crime. This country created upward of three-quarter of a million refugees and refuses to allow them to return to their homes, farms and businesses. It also refuses to pay compensation to people, out of those unfortunate refugees, whose land, bank accounts and businesses it impounded.

Furthermore, a citizen of this country assassinated a high ranking UN diplomat, and the man who ordered the hit went on to become its Prime Minister. This is a country that is on record for having blown up an American diplomatic facility in Egypt and attacking a U.S. ship in international waters, killing 34 and wounding 171 American sailors.

This is a country that regularly spies on your country. In a not too distant past, one of its spies stole your classified documents and gave some of them to your then enemy number one, the Soviet Union. To add insult to injury, this country at first denied any official connection to that spy, then voted to make him a citizen and has, since then, continuously demanded that the American president grant him a full pardon. As a matter of fact to this very day, none of the materials stolen by that spy has been returned by this country to the United States.

Additionally, even now as these lines are being written, important figures in an arguably most powerful lobby sponsored by this country in Washington, D.C., are under investigation by the FBI for spying against the United States for this country. Other than that, this country regularly allows American murderers belonging to a certain faith to flee to its country to escape punishment in the United States and refuses to extradite them once in their custody.

This country deliberately targeted a U.N. Refugee Camp and killed 103 innocent men, women, and children. As well, this country stands in defiance of 69 United Nations Security Council resolutions and has been protected from 29 more by your vetoes. Just as a reminder, your country has cast 73 vetoes out of the 248 cast by all permanent members of the Security Council. On 38 occasions these vetoes were cast to protect this country from, at times, things as serious as a mild criticism directed against its violation of human rights or the territorial rights of its neighbors.

This is a country that is cited by Amnesty International for demolishing more than 4000 innocent people’s homes as a means of ethnic cleansing and routinely kills young children for no reason other than throwing stones at armored vehicles, bulldozers, or tanks. This is a country that regularly violates the Geneva Convention by imposing collective punishment on entire towns, villages, and camps, for the acts of a few, and even goes as far as demolishing entire villages while people are still in their homes.

This is a country that signed the Oslo Accords promising to halt any new illegal settlement constructions, yet went on to build more than 270 new ones in defiance of the same accord. This is a country that has assassinated more than 100 political officials of its opponent in the last about three years while killing hundreds of civilians in the process, including dozens of children.

Couldn’t guess dear Americans? Probably a few ironic hints would make it clearer.

Despite all the aforementioned treacheries against America and being the 16th richest one in the world, this country receives more than one-third of all U.S. aid. In a fifty years period, between 1949 and 1999, America has given to this country of six million people, more foreign aid than it gave to all of the countries of sub-Saharan Africa, all of the countries of Latin America, and all of the countries of the Caribbean with a combined total population of more than 1000 million people. Ironically, despite all this, its Prime minister insults the American people in an address to the United States Congress and lectures them like children on why they have no right to reduce foreign aid.

Still not there? Ok, here’s more.

Since 1985, your Congress has voted an annual foreign aid package of $3 billion to this country, nearly two thirds of this in out-and-out grants, and comprising one-third of all US foreign assistance. Just upto the year 2001, the total foreign aid to this country since 1967 adds up to a whopping $143 billion. That amounts to a transfer of about $28,000 for every citizen of this country. If the write-offs and bribes paid to the neighbors of this country in support of your blind allegiance to it is taken into account, the amount, by some estimates, leaps up to a staggering $1.6 trillion. In per capita terms, this amounts to more than $3o0, 000 for every citizen of this country.

One last hint if you are still not there.

As disclosed by Fox News, this is the only country in the world whose over one hundred citizens and sympathizers were arrested in United States post-9/11 for suspected links to that unfortunate incident.

Eureka!!!! Yes. This country is none other than your most allied ally, Israel.

But please remember attacking other countries is bad, as bad as the orchestrated 9/11 attack on your country was. Please do not allow your country to attack other countries.
