Still the Bumbling Fools
by Anwaar Hussain
Thanks to the murderous fools in the current US administration, civil life in Iraq, now at the “point of no return”, is teetering at the edge of total anarchy.
As an accompanying fallout, along with an estimated million dead Iraqis, a morally, financially and diplomatically bankrupt America, the inept charlatans have also successfully managed to thoroughly radicalize the whole region. From Sudan to Pakistan and beyond, the ranks of America haters now stand swollen like never before. The recruiters for suicide brigades now drool non-stop with glee at the long cues of raging applicants outside their murky caves.
Let us revisit some of the opening acts of the bumbling fools in this morbid theater of the absurd.
Whether the Iraq and Afghanistan invasions were on false grounds or for some higher moral compulsions, the blundering fools should have known the character of state identities in these countries. They should have investigated whether society’s members there consider themselves first and foremost to be members of the nation championed by the state or the rival cultural elites there do not accept the national identity and would rather respond to tribal, ethnic, and religious calls. They did not.
They should have found out the personnel allegiances of the full-time cadres, part-time cadres, active and potential supporters of the likely resistance fighters, their warlords, and other armed groups opposed to such invasions. They did not.
They should have stopped threatening Iran and Syria long time back. They should have rather been providing firm support to these states to bolster regional stability. They should have been rewarding these countries for their non-intervention rather than tongue lashing them, humiliating them openly on false pretexts and laying down red lines for them on daily basis. They did not.
And the one thing they should not have done was trying to pick winners so early in this macabre game and aiding one Iraqi faction against another. They should not have provided active support for Iraq’s partition, as a result of which they now find themselves doing feverish rounds of the ‘axis of evil’ trying desperately to stop the member states of the ‘axis’ from supporting their Iraqi proxies. They did.
What takes the cake is that unruffled by the ghoulish results of the idiocy of his actions, in the meanwhile, the ‘decider-in-chief’ of the bumbling fools has decided to ‘surge’ ahead and fatten the target for the resistance fighters. The accompanying ‘surge’ in American casualties, since that decision, vouches for the increased size of the unfortunate target. Who was it that said, “while intelligent people can often simplify the complex, a fool is more likely to complicate the simple.”
Shamelessly though, the perpetrators of this grizzly drama are busy making dizzying rounds deep within the heart of the ‘axis of evil’, hat in hand, begging any one there who would care to listen, to save them from their own bumbling selves.
One does understand that fools are more audible, being naturally endowed with voices so much louder than sensible people. Yet one is confounded all the same that there are still Americans out there, however minuscule in numbers, who support this dastardly act and cheer on the participating actors. Perhaps it goes only to prove that every fool finds a greater one to admire him.
When such an American does finally wake up one day and ask to be forgiven for the atrocities committed in his name, it would possibly be for him that Abraham Lincoln would have said, “He reminds me of the man who murdered both his parents, and then pleaded for mercy on the grounds that he was an orphan.”
Although the lot ruling the roost in the great US of A is still the bumbling fools, one does hope that when they do finally come around, the Nancy Pelosis of America would have the guts to display the following Spanish proverb in bold yellow letters on a bill board with a black background;
“What a fool does in the end, the wise do in the beginning.”

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -
President George W. Bush’s approval rating has fallen to 28 percent in a Newsweek Poll released on Saturday, an all-time low for Bush in that survey.
Nearly two out of three Americans — 62 percent — believe Bush’s recent actions in Iraq show he is “stubborn and unwilling to admit his mistakes,” Newsweek reported. Just 30 percent think Bush’s execution of the Iraq war demonstrates he is “willing to take political risks” to do what’s right…..

Nancy Pelosis/Dems owe Bush a big one.
May 7th, 2007 at 10:44 pmBush’s ‘surge’ in occupied Iraq is failing
By Kaleem Omar
US army Major General Rick Lynch, commander of the Third Infantry Division, on Sunday forecast a rise in deaths among American forces in Iraq in the coming months. As if to underscore his prediction, a roadside bomb killed six US soldiers north of Baghdad on Sunday. Five other American troops died elsewhere in Iraq over the weekend.
Lynch said casualties will climb as American troops dig into “enemy†territory as part of a stepped-up military operation ordered by US President George W. Bush in January this year – the so-called “surge†under which an additional 30,000 American troops are being sent to US-occupied Iraq this year to reinforce the 150,000 American troops that are already there.
The “surge†– which is yet another Bush administration euphemism spawned by the Iraq war – was supposed to make Baghdad and other parts of Iraq safer for American troops and reduce the number of casualties. In fact, it has made the situation worse. April was the deadliest month this year for American forces in Iraq.

May 8th, 2007 at 6:38 amAnwaar, love your work!
Insane, avarice-driven, criminal elite purposely created a horrific mess which now seems to be out of their control. Fueling hatered, playing all sides at once, the planned ‘order out of chaos’ ploy is not working.
It is a catch 22. If US doesn’t leave Iraq, the chaos and hatered will continue to grow against American government. If the US does leave Iraq, the US government will continue to be hated because the mess they have created will not disappear any time soon…and Iraqis will NEVER forget!
May 8th, 2007 at 12:09 pmI don’t think the fools are close to being finished, the war with Iran will take place, something will happen somewhere whether a terror attck, or and Isreali attack on Iran that will launch the World ever closer to WW3, you see the fools do know they are loosing, and Georgie Boy is the loser, the black sheep of his family, he will start WW3 just to keep from being called the village idiot, when a fool gets caught in his own foolishness he rages, expect the fool the decider to rage, and when he does, he may decide to take us all with himself. And Jesus Wept!

Subj: Turn Up the Heat on Congress
1)Stop funding an unwinnable occupation.
2)Start moving toward impeachment of a White House that is out of control.
Date: 5/10/07 2:27:15 AM Eastern Daylight Time
From: info@pdamerica.org (Tim Carpenter, Progressive Democrats of America)
With national dailies reporting today that the Pentagon is ready to send ten combat brigades to Iraq to sustain this summer’s “troop surge†into next year, it’s time to turn up the heat on our Democratic-led Congress by telling them:
1)Stop funding an unwinnable occupation.
2)Start moving toward impeachment of a White House that is out of control.
On both demands, the time is now: Call your representative in the U.S. House (switchboard: 202-224-3121).
After Bush vetoed an Iraq supplemental funding bill because it had timelines for withdrawal of most troops, the House Democratic leadership is now proposing a new $95 billion bill without withdrawal timelines. The vote is expected Thursday evening. The bill provides $40 billion in immediate funding, and would release the rest in July after Bush certifies that the Iraqi government is meeting “benchmarks†of progress.
The antiwar movement opposes the new Iraq supplemental bill because it continues to lavishly fund the escalated occupation – without a withdrawal timeline. And one of the benchmarks of Iraqi “progress†promoted by this Democratic bill is an oil law that privatizes Iraqi oil on behalf of U.S. and multinational oil interests!
So urge your House member immediately (202-224-3121) to vote NO on the Supplemental and any Iraq funding that goes beyond a safe, orderly, prompt withdrawal of all U.S. troops and military contractors.
And while you’re calling, please ask your Congress member to co-sponsor H.R. 333, Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Cheney. The bill, drafted by Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), bases impeachment on Cheney’s manipulation of intelligence to launch the Iraq invasion and on his threats of aggressive action against Iran. The bill is now co-sponsored by William. Lacy Clay (D-MO) and Jan Schakowsky (D-IL).
We need co-sponsors for this bill impeaching Cheney first! Email your Congress member:

or call them at 202-224-3121.
The antiwar movement understands better than Democratic leaders in Congress that the best way to subdue Team Bush/Cheney and prevent further deepening of U.S. involvement in Iraq and Iran is by putting the White House on the defensive through serious investigations, accountability and impeachment. It was the threat of impeachment that curtailed further Nixonian aggression in Southeast Asia.
PDA played a big role in the recent California Democratic Party resolution on impeachment; six more towns in Massachusetts have just called for impeachment.
Let’s keep the heat on Congress by saying NO to funding the Iraq occupation and YES to holding this White House accountable!
In peace,
Tim Carpenter

Action Alert
Impeach Cheney First!
Ask your Rep, to support H.Res. 333
On Tuesday April 24, Rep. Dennis Kucinich acted. Late in the afternoon, Kucinich filed Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Richard Cheney citing three reasons:
Manipulating intelligence about weapons of mass destruction that misled us into war with Iraq,
Manipulating intelligence about Al Queda’s connections to Iraq, which contributed to leading us into the war in Iraq,
Openly threatening aggression against Iran, and in so doing undermining our national security.
This is not about politics or the next election, it is about wrongdoing at the highest level of our government and it should be punished — beginning with Vice President Cheney. No one is above the law. Now is the time to act. Tell your Congress member to support H. Res. 333.

Bush seeks compromise on Iraq benchmarks
By ANNE FLAHERTY, Associated Press Writer 6 minutes ago
WASHINGTON – President Bush, under growing political pressure, agreed Thursday to negotiate with Congress on a war-spending bill that sets benchmarks for progress in Iraq.
The turnabout in Bush’s position came as Republicans expressed anxieties about the war and the House was expected to pass legislation that would cut off funding for U.S. troops as early as July.
