The Coming 9/11 for Dummies
by Anwaar Hussain
Various polls have been conducted since 2001 to ascertain the job approval ratings of President George W. Bush. These polls were conducted by leading media giants and other respectable institutions. The names of these organizations are CBS News, Zogby International, Gallup Poll, CNN/USA Today, Fox News, Quinnipic University, PEW Research Center and Associated Press/IPSOS. These results can be reached here.
The respondents were asked the same question since 2001 through to 2005. The question was;
“Do you approve or disapprove of the way George W. Bush is handling his job as president?”
When averaged out, only 11 % disapproved the President’s job handling immediately post-9/11/2001. Almost 50 % disapprove today–an alarming increase of about four and a half times the 2001 count. Read more
The Menezes Syndrome
by Anwaar Hussain
In a small red tiled home at the end of a rutted road in the Brazilian town of Gonzaga, Jean Charles de Menezes’s parents cry silently each night over the tragic demise of their murdered son. The mother holds a recent photo of her smiling son during this ritual, her tears cascading over her weather beaten face onto the framed photograph. The mango and orange trees in the nearby farms are the wordless partners in this mourning since Friday the 22nd July when life was snuffed out of their innocent son by the London Police. A journey that started as routine for De Menezes ended up in the never never land courtesy Her Majesty’s armed police who were given shoot to kill orders for all Asian looking suspects in the wake of recent bombing attacks in London. With five shots from point lank range to the back of pinned down Menezes’s head, a blameless man was deprived of his youth and his dreams.
A Letter of Condolence
by Anwaar Hussain
I write this on my own behalf and on behalf of innumerable others who share my feelings.
I offer my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved of the innocent victims of the London bombing. This note is the hardest to write for I am at a loss to express my deep sympathy and profound sorrow in a way that can bring comfort to the near and dear ones of the blameless victims of the London bombing attacks. To overcome this difficulty, I will say what I truly feel. Eloquence, grammar, punctuation and syntax can take care of themselves for today. Read more
The American Sahafs
by Anwaar Hussain
Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf, an ex-Iraqi Information Minister and politician, came to wide prominence around the world during the 2003 invasion of Iraq by American led coalition forces when he used to give live press briefings on daily basis. His hyperbole, fantasies and far-from-reality type of briefings earned him the nickname of Baghdad Bob and Comic Ali by commentators in the western media.
George W. Bush, the twice elected 43rd President of the United States of America, is the team leader of a group of individuals known as neoconservatives who conceived, planned and launched a scheme for United States’ world domination starting from the most defenseless, yet lucrative, targets : Afghanistan and Iraq.
Who Shall Inherit The Earth?
by Anwaar Hussain
The present chaos in the world is painted by some as a struggle between dictatorships and democracy, yet others have termed it a war between Christianity and Islam, calling it a Crusade. There is neither any such struggle between democratic and dictatorial forces visible anywhere, nor are there are any Crusades going on. We are only witnessing a continuing saga of the Haves and the Have-nots.
Regardless of cast, color, creed, national identities or isms, the world is divided into two main opposing social classes, the tiny Haves and the massive Have-nots. The main driving force of modern history is simply the struggle between these two classes. Religious polarization is merely another tool in the hands of the Haves to keep the Have-nots busy, heads down, in their myriad struggles lest they pause long enough to behold their own emaciated selves and the folds of fat around the frames of the slave masters.
Dust Off The Nuremberg Files
by Anwaar Hussain
At Nuremberg, in early October 1945, the four prosecuting nations — the United States, Great Britain, France and Russia — issued an indictment against 24 men and six organizations of the Nazi Germany. Of that 24 only 21 eventually sat down in the trial. The individual defendants were charged not only with the systematic murder of millions of people, but also with planning and carrying out the war in Europe. Twelve Nazi officials were sentenced to be hanged, three sentenced to life in prison, four were given prison sentences of 10-20 years, and the rest were acquitted.Presently, the ongoing American and British slaughter of thousands of Iraqi and Afghan civilians constitutes a blatant war crime. Average legal skills should be able to prove that a similar case for the prosecution against the current coalition leaders can easily be constructed on comparable lines.

In the United Vegetative State of America, Anwaar Hussain, a Masters in Defense and Strategic Studies, delivers a comprehensive and unsettling analysis of the dissolution of liberty in America and how an administration of neo-conservatives is using the threat of lost freedoms and increased terrorism as a justification for international aggression and violence.
